Cleora C. Helbing was State Supervisor of Home Economics in 1919. Under the leadership of State Superintendent of Education T. H. Harris, Helbing visited the high schools of Allen, Clacasieu and Vernon parishes and reported on the home economics programs. Rural schools were progressing greatly under Harris's administration and homemaking was one of the programs being featured at the high school level. From the description of Cleora C. Hervey B. Peairs (b. May 11, 1866, Muskingum Co., Oregon; d. Sept. 2, 1940) with the Haskell Institute Indian School in Lawrence, Kansas, frmo 1887, where he became superintendent. He later became general superintenden of the Office of Indian Affairs in Washington, D.C.
